Federal Club exercises the Public Option
While a "public option" is a source of much consternation when it comes to the federal government's health-care debate, Richmond, VA area golfers are all benefiting from the Federal Club's new public option. As in opening up to public play.
As the housing market and general economy proceeded to tank, area observers felt it would only be a matter of time until the Federal Club opened itself to public play. And while we're sure this is much to the consternation of the members, who paid somewhere in the five-figure range in initiation fees, there is little else that the club can do at this point.
Greens fees appear to be $95 for prime time weekends, $75 prime time weekdays ($70 and $60 respectively after 2pm).
Given the rotten weather, we haven't had a chance to avail ourselves of the offer yet, but you can best believe we'll be doing so as soon as we get some decent weather.
